CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1162 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 18 (SIGNS), CHAPTER 2, <br /> TITLE II (ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) OF THE ORDINANCE CODE <br /> OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RELATING TO TEMPORARy SUBDIVI- <br /> SION SIGNS AND TEMPORARy SIGNS ADJACENT TO FREEWAYS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Section 2-9.46(f) of Article 18, Chapter 2, Title II <br /> of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended in <br /> its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "f- Such signs may be established along, but not within <br /> the right-of-way of any highway, street or <br /> thoroughfare. Where such signs are within 1000 ft. <br /> of the right-of-way of any freeway, they shall be <br /> subject to review and approval by the Design Review <br /> Board. In conjunction with the approval of such <br /> signs, the Design Review Board may require the ap- <br /> plicant to enter into an agreement with the City to <br /> maintain the sign in an attractive manner through- <br /> out the duration of its existence.,, <br /> <br /> Section 2: Section 2-9.46(h) of Article 18, Chapter 2, Title II <br /> of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended by <br /> adding the words "or Design Review Board', to the first <br /> sentence, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Prior to erecting any subdivision sign approved by the <br /> Zoning Administrator or Design Review Board, a cash bond <br /> or letter of credit...,, <br /> <br />Section 3: A new Section 2-9.47 is hereby added to Article 18, <br /> Chapter 2, Title II of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to <br /> read as follows: <br /> <br /> "§2-9.47 Temporary Signs Adjacent to Freeways. All <br /> temporary signs except for temporary subdivision signs <br /> as defined in Section 2-9.46 of this chapter, over 12 <br /> sq. ft. in size within 1000 ft. of the right-of-way of <br /> any freeway shall be subject to review and approval by <br /> the Design Review Board. Such sign shall not exceed 100 <br /> sq. ft. in size or 14 ft. in height. These height and <br /> size restrictions need not apply to properties over 100 <br /> acres in size. In conjunction with the approval of such <br /> signs, the Design Review Board may require the applicant <br /> enter into an agreement with the City to maintain the <br /> sign in an attractive manner throughout the duration of <br /> its existence.
