ENGEO GEOTECHNICAL ENVIRONMENTAL WATER RESOURCES I N C O R P O R A T E D CONSTRUCTION SERVICES Project No. 4635.100.101 February 25, 2010 Mr. Wes Jost City of Pleasanton, Engineering Services 200 Old Bernal Avenue Pleasanton, CA 94566 -0802 Subject: Moller Ranch Pleasanton, California PROPOSAL FOR GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICT (GHAD) MONITORING Dear Mr. Jost: As requested, ENGEO is pleased to provide the following fee estimate for observation of improvements within the Moller Ranch GRAD. The monitoring events are intended to satisfy the requirements of the Plan of Control. The monitoring events will include: • A geologic reconnaissance of the site slopes for indications of erosion or slope failure. • An inspection of concrete -lined surface ditches. • A reconnaissance of creek banks and other drainage corridors for indications of slope instability that could impact site improvements. • Observation of known, readily accessible subdrain outlets installed during mass grading. • Observation of selected sidewalks, and curb and gutter alignments. • Observation of the condition of roadways within open space and common areas. We propose to conduct two regularly scheduled monitoring events and submit a monitoring report for each event. As requested, the term of this proposal covers the 5 - year period from 2010 through 2014. We propose to perform the services outlined above for a fee of $2,100 per event for the first two years (2010 and 2011) and $2,200 per event for remaining three years (2012, 2013 and 2014). For the 5 -year period, the fee would be $21,600. Note that ENGEO has been performing site reconnaissance at Moller Ranch since 1999, and the fees for our services have been fixed since 2005. As requested, we will conduct additional inspection events on an as- needed basis as defined by the Plan of Control (e.g., whenever rainfall exceeds 2 inches in a 24 -hour period as reported by local monitoring stations) for a fixed fee of $1,800 per event, including the summary report.
