Presentation of Proclamation for the 20 Anniversary of the American Disability Act <br /> Councilmember McGovern presented the Proclamation. <br /> Ms. Rivera - Henderson thanked the City for working with the disabled community through the <br /> Disabled Action Network for the past year. <br /> 22. Public Comment <br /> Kathy Dowding read the names of 50 of the 87 American soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan <br /> since the last regular Council meeting. <br /> Cathe Norman read the remaining 37 names of American soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan <br /> since the last regular Council meeting. She invited the Council and public to join Pleasantonians <br /> for Peace at the next monthly peaceful protest on July 28 and peace vigil on August 11 <br /> Angelina Summers addressed the Council conceming Devcon Ice Rink. She voiced concerns <br /> with the change in lane assignments at the comer of West Las Vacitas and Stoneridge Drive, <br /> and that a bicycle lane is to be situated between the through traffic and right -hand tum lanes. <br /> She asked the Council to refrain from marking the lane changes until the public has an <br /> opportunity to provide input. <br /> Fred Norman said the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are extremely important to Pleasanton and <br /> as such, it is the Council's job to know and to care about them.
