CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1152 <br /> <br /> AMENDMENT TO TITLE II, CHAPTER 10 OF THE ORDINANCE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON REGARDING PRESERVATION <br /> OF TREES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, preservation of trees pursuant to Chapter 10, <br /> Title II (Preservation of Trees on Private Property) <br /> has suffered due to a lack of expertise among <br /> staff concerning special treatment necessary to <br /> preserve trees in urbanizing areas and to an <br /> absence of any meaningful penalty; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 2-17.08 of Article 2, Chapter 10, Title <br /> II of the Pleasanton Ordinance Code is hereby <br /> amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 2-17.08. New Property Development. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person desiring to cut down, destroy, <br /> or remove one or more trees on any <br /> property in the City which is related <br /> to the development of property requiring <br /> City approval shall make application to <br /> the appropriate City reviewing body for <br /> such removal as part of the regular <br /> application. <br /> <br /> (1) The applicant shall provide a tree <br /> survey plan specifying the precise <br /> location, size, and species of all <br /> existing trees on the property with <br /> a special notation of those classified <br /> as Heritage Trees. The survey <br /> shall also indicate which trees are <br /> proposed for removal. <br /> <br /> (2) When deemed necessary by the Director, <br /> the applicant shall either (i) provide <br /> a report by a recognized tree <br /> expert selected from a list of tree <br /> experts satisfactory to the Director, <br /> or (ii) reimburse the City for such <br /> a report commissioned directly by <br /> the Director; said report shall be <br /> <br /> <br />
