MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> July 20, 2010 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br /> McGovern led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the introductory remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Cook - Kallio, McGovern, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Absent: Councilmember Sullivan <br /> Mayor Hosterman noted Councilmember Sullivan had a family obligation and would not be <br /> present, but Councilmember Cook - Kallio could be expected to join the meeting later in the <br /> evening. <br /> CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> City Attorney Lowell reported that the Council met in Closed Session regarding the matter of <br /> Jefferey vs. City of Pleasanton. By a 3 -0 vote, the City Council authorized entering into a <br /> settlement agreement pertaining to the Jefferey vs. City of Pleasanton litigation. The agreement <br /> is subject to the Council approving certain Conditions of Approval on the Consent Calendar this <br /> evening. The settlement entails the imposition of new Conditions of Approval regarding the <br /> Jefferey parcel, the recordation of a covenant in the chain of title, ensuring adherence to a <br /> landscaping plan that provides screening for downhill neighbors, and a payment of $15,000 in <br /> attorney's fees. <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> City Manager Fialho reported that Consent Calendar Item 12; PDAM -03, is being continued by <br /> staff to August 17, 2010. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Administrative Services <br /> 1. Approved regular meeting minutes of May 18, 2010, June 1, 2010 and June 15, 2010 and <br /> special meeting minutes of May 17, 2010, May 18, 2010, and June 7, 2010 <br /> 2. Adopted Resolution No. 10 -385 authorizing the City to participate in the Local Agency <br /> Workers' Compensation Excess Joint Powers Authority to provide excess workers <br /> compensation coverage <br /> City Manager <br /> 3. Amended the FY 2009 -10 Budget related to $200,000 loan of federal HOME funds to Tri- <br /> Valley REACH <br /> 4. Designated Councilmember Thorne as the City's voting delegate for the 2010 League of <br /> California Cities Annual Conference <br />
