BACKGROUND <br /> On June 21, 2009, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the subject <br /> project to the lowest responsible bidder, Knife River Construction in the amount of <br /> $411,760. The City Council also authorized the Director of Community Development to <br /> approve change orders up to the project contingency amount of $82,350. The subject <br /> project has since been completed and is ready for acceptance. <br /> The Annual Water Replacement Project, CIP No. 081028, was authorized by the <br /> 2008/2009 Capital Improvement Program. There were approximately 665 linear feet of <br /> new 8" PVC water main, one new fire hydrant, 16 lateral services, and two water main <br /> connections installed at the East Angela location. For Commerce Circle, the contractor <br /> installed approximately 2,930 linear feet of 12" PVC water main, 26 lateral services, 8 <br /> new fire hydrant runs, one water main connection, and eight fire line tie -ins. The <br /> contractor also furnished and installed a 6" above ground double check detector <br /> assembly at 7042 Commerce Circle which was paid for by the property owner. The <br /> existing water mains at both locations were abandoned in place. <br /> BUDGET <br /> The final project funding, expenditures and remaining funds are summarized in <br /> Attachment 1. <br /> Staff recommends that City Council authorize the transfer of the remaining unused <br /> project balance in the amount of $58,364 to CIP No. 091028 (Annual Water <br /> Replacement Project). <br /> Submitted b Fiscal Review: Approve by: <br /> Brian D an Emily Wagner Nelson Fialho <br /> Director of Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Community Development <br /> Attachment: <br /> 1.
