Jan Cornish, Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), announced LAVTA will
launch a new bus rapid transit service in early 2011.
Becky Dennis expressed support for Measure D.
Kathy Dowding said it has been three years since she first stood before the Council to share the
names of those killed in the war. She read the names of the 15 Americans killed in Iraq and
Afghanistan since the last Council meeting and invited the public to join Pleasantonians for
Peace at its monthly vigil.
Fred Norman said he and twenty others who attend Pleasantonians for Peace's monthly vigil
care deeply about the deaths of American military men and women. He repeated the invitation
to attend the next vigil.
Tony Slimick requested a moment of silence for fallen soldiers. He spoke in support of Measure
D.
Jack Bras addressed Council concerning the increase in noise travelling from the fairgrounds
and asked that the Council speak with them before the issue becomes a real problem for the
community.
Mayor Hosterman noted the fairgrounds are not within the City's jurisdiction but said she would
see what could be done.
Steve Brozosky shared his concern with the advertisements in support of Measure D.
Paul Martens questioned the accessibility of Oak Grove open space for Pleasanton residents.
Paul Ebright referred to marketing material for the yes on Measure D campaign, and
encouraged citizens to vote no on Measure D.
Kay Ayala thanked the Pleasanton residents who supported the no on Measure D campaign.
Karen De Baca Martens thanked Councilmember Sullivan for his articulate letter to the editor in
the Pleasanton Weekly concerning Measure D, and detailed the campaign accounts and
expenditures for both the Frederick Lin Family for Oak Grove and Vote No, Save Pleasanton
Hills.
Karla Brown spoke in support of Measure D and expressed concerned with the content of the
materials being distributed by the Yes on Measure D campaign.
Dolores Bengtson voiced support for the Oak Grove project and finds it disconcerting that those
who do not continue to demonize the developer and his attempts to support his own project.
Otis Nostrand stated he will vote yes on Measure D.
City Council Minutes Page 3 of 10 May 4, 2010
