THE CITY OF 10 <br /> pL£ASANTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> June 1, 2010 <br /> Parks and Community Services <br /> TITLE: REVIEW OF PROPOSALS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL <br /> TREE TRIMMING, REMOVAL, AND INVENTORY PROJECT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Proposals have been received for the Annual Tree Trimming and Removal project, and <br /> staff is recommending award of a maintenance contract to West Coast Arborist, Inc., <br /> with a basic crew rate of $220 per hour, and a unit price rate of $55 per tree for grid tree <br /> trimming. This project consists of tree pruning, removals, tree inventory data collection <br /> and maintenance, and other related tree work for the period July 1, 2010 to June 30, <br /> 2011. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council take the following actions at the meeting of June 1, 2010: <br /> 1. Approve the project specifications; <br /> 2. Award the Annual Tree Trimming, Removal and Inventory contract, including <br /> alternate bid items 2, 3, 4, and 6 (Attachment A) to West Coast Arborist, Inc; and <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract for this project. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The value of the contract work for FY 2010/11 is a not to exceed amount of $375,000. <br /> The project, if funded, is in the City's FY 2010/11 Park Renovation Budget. <br />
