CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1126 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO FAMILY DAY CARE HO}~S FOR CHILDREN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2-5.19 of Article 2 (Definitions) of Chapter 2 (Zoning) of Title II (Zoning and DeveloDment) of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended by adding a new subsection to read as follows: "f. Family day care home. A home which regularly provides care, protection and supervision of children in the provider's own home for periods of less than 24 hours per day while the children's parents or guardians are away, including the following: (1) Small family day care home - a home providing family day care to six or fewer children, including children who reside at the home. (2) Large family day care home - a home providing family day care to seven to twelve children, inclusive, including children who reside at the home." Section 2: Section 2-5.26(a)(Nursery school) of Article 2 (Definitions) of Chapter 2 (Zoning) of Title II (Zoning and Development)of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: "(a) Nursery school. A school for five or more pre-elementary school age children, or use of a site or portion of a site for a group day care program (includin~ but not limited to a day nursery, play group, or after school grOUP) for five or more children when not located in the provider's own home; and, a school and/or Kroup day care program for thirteen or more children when located in the provider's own home."
