CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1124 <br /> <br /> APPROVING AMENDMENT TO SECTION 2-5.38(f), ARTICLE <br /> 3, CHAPTER 2, TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO ALLOW OVERHEIGHT FENCES <br /> AROUND OUTDOOR STORAGE AREAS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 2-5.38(f), Article 3, Chapter 2, Title <br /> II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br /> is amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Fences, walls, hedges not over 6 ft. in height, <br /> walks, driveways and retaining walls may occuDy a <br /> required side or rear yard except that fences, <br /> walls, and hedges in the side yard on the street <br /> side of a corner lot may not exceed 30 inches in <br /> height and no such structure or hedge shall pose a <br /> traffic site obstruction. In the C-S, C-A, I-P <br /> and I-G Districts fences as high as 8 ft. may be <br /> allowed in conjunction with outdoor storage areas. <br /> The upper 2 ft. of such fences may contain barbed <br /> wire. Permission of the zoning administrator <br /> shall be required for such over height fences and <br /> may be denied if the zoning administrator determines <br /> the appearance of such fencing would conflict with <br /> the purposes of this chapter of if such fencing <br /> would be detrimental to the public health or <br /> general welfare." <br /> <br /> Section 2: This ordinance shall be published once within <br /> fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The <br /> Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) <br /> days after the date of its final passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on January 24, 1984. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Pleasanton on February 14, 1984 by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
