CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAmeDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1119 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ORDERING A REFERENDUM ELECTION TO <br /> BE HELD ON APRIL 10, 1984 TO SUBMIT RESOLUTION <br /> NO. 83-501 TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 6, 1983, the City of Pleasanton received <br /> a petition to referend Resolution No. 83-5~1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Detition was forwarded to the Alameda County <br /> RegiStrar of Voters for verification of the <br /> signatures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 9, 1984, the City Council adoDted <br /> Resolution No. 84-14 accepting the Certification <br /> of Referendum Petition; <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PL~ASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council orders an election to be held on April 10, <br /> 1984, to submit Resolution No. 83-501 to the voters <br /> of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The proposed ballot language shall be as shown on Exhibit "A". <br /> <br /> Section 3: Direct arguments for and against Resolution No. <br /> 83-501 are to be submitted to the City Clerk by <br /> January 31, 1984. <br /> <br /> Section 4: Rebuttal arguments are to be submitted to the City Clerk by February 14, 1984. <br /> <br /> Section 5: Mayor Butler and Vice Mayor Mercer are directed <br /> to prepare ballot arguments and rebuttals for con- <br /> sideration of signature by each Councilmember. <br /> <br /> Section 6: The City Attorney is directed to prepare a synODSiS <br /> Of Resolution No. 83-501 Dursuant to Elections Code <br /> Section 4018. <br /> <br /> Section 7: The City Attorney is directed to prepare an <br /> impartial analysis of Resolution No. 83-501 <br /> pursuant to Elections Code Section 5011. This <br /> analysis shall be available to both opponents and <br /> proponents by January 24, 1984. <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
