THE CITY OF 16 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> April 6, 2010 <br /> Law Department <br /> TITLE: RESOLUTION REGARDING LABOR DISPUTE BETWEEN <br /> CASTLEWOOD COUNTRY CLUB AND UNITE HERE!, HOSPITALITY <br /> WORKERS UNION LOCAL 2850 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> A labor dispute exists between Castlewood Country Club and Unite Here!, Hospitality <br /> Workers Union Local 2850. On March 16, 2010 impacted workers, some of whom are <br /> Pleasanton residents, asked the City Council to help. As the Brown Act prevented the <br /> Council from taking action at that time, a majority directed this item be placed on the <br /> April 6, 2010 agenda and a draft resolution be prepared urging the parties to return to <br /> the bargaining table. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Consider the attached draft resolution encouraging the parties to return to the <br /> bargaining table. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact upon the City stemming from this action. <br />
