Crow Canyon Road Improvements Phase 1 <br /> TVTC Project Sponsor: <br /> Alameda County <br /> Lead Agency <br /> Alameda County <br /> gam <br /> Project Description: <br /> This project is Phase 1 of a two <br /> phase safety improvement project <br /> ".b along Crow Canyon Road. This <br /> s safety improvement project <br /> PI f` e includes roadway realignment, <br /> shoulder widening, retaining wall <br /> e systems, and guardrail <br /> modifications in the vicinity of <br /> Mile Marker 2.15. (Please refer to <br /> Project A -9B for details on Phase <br /> r.- <br /> 2.) <br /> Overall, the realignment of various <br /> curves, shoulder widening, and <br /> retaining wall systems will <br /> facilitate traffic operations and reduce congestion for residents traveling between Alameda and <br /> Contra Costa Counties. Roadway improvements will reduce traffic collisions and, therefore, <br /> improve traffic flow along this roadway. The modification of the tight curve near Mile <br /> Marker 2.15 will reduce the high number of collisions, including fatalities along this congested <br /> roadway. <br /> Status: <br /> The project is currently in the Preliminary Engineering /Environmental Studies stage. <br /> Construction is expected to begin by 2014. <br /> Phasing and Schedule: <br /> Construction of Phase 1 is expected to begin by 2014. <br /> Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc.
