I -580 HOV Lane Eastbound <br /> i <br /> TVTC Project Sponsor: <br /> 3 SS <br /> a <br /> Dublin The City of Pleasanton <br /> o r a, a <br /> ��Tj Lead Agency: <br /> Alameda County Congestion <br /> Management Agency <br /> Pleasanton Project Description: <br /> This project will construct about 5 miles of HOV lanes on I -580 from west of Hacienda <br /> Boulevard to east of Greenville Road. After it is completed, this freeway segment will have a <br /> total of four mixed -flow lanes and one HOV lane. This project is part of a two -phase project with <br /> the first phase consisting of construction HOV lanes on the eastbound segment and the second <br /> phase consisting of construction HOV lanes on the westbound segment (refer to Project A -5B for <br /> details). <br /> Status: <br /> The HOV project was split into two separate contracts for bidding purposes. The contractor for <br /> the first contract has completed work in the median and traffic has shifted in order for the outside <br /> widening to begin. The project is on track to open in August 2009. The second contract received <br /> a California Transportation Commission (CTC) allocation of funds at the October meeting and <br /> was advertised on January 5, 2009. Bid opening was scheduled for May 12, 2009. ACCMA has <br /> initiated design of the complementary auxiliary lanes project between Isabel and North <br /> Livermore Avenue and North Livermore Avenue and First Street. <br /> Phasing and Schedule: <br /> The first HOV construction contract will be completed in August 2009. The second HOV <br /> construction contract will commence in 2009. The schedule for the auxiliary lanes project is <br /> pending. <br /> Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. Page 6 <br />
