DISCUSSION
On January 19, 2010, the City Council confirmed a 20- member Task Force to guide the
preparation of a Major Modification to the Hacienda PUD. The Task Force members are
listed in Attachment 1 to the agenda report. Subsequent to that meeting, the Mayor and
City Council received a letter from John McPartland Board, 5th District Director of the Bay
Area Rapid Transit District (BART) requesting representation on the Hacienda Task
Force (Attachment 2).
In light of the fact that the BART station will play a key role in the Hacienda transit
oriented plan, that BART is a financial contributor to the planning process, and that BART
staff previously expressed an interest in looking at mixed use development on the BART
property, staff recommends that the City Council support the BART Board's request for a
Task Force representative.
Submitted by: Approved y:
Brian Dolan Nelson Fialho
Director of Community Development City Manager
Attachment
1.
