THE CITY OF
mur
Unix in in ..0 1 111
pLEASANTON©
MEMORANDUM
Date: January 28, 2010
To: Brain Dolan, Director of Community Development
From: D.C. Spiller, Police Operations Captain
Subject: Calls for Service Data and Background Info Redcoats Pub 2009
In review of the activity and calls for service associated with the Redcoats Pub, I have listed all of the
captured calls for service data for 2009. Based on the Police CAD Records data at 336 St. Mary, there
were 43 citizen initiated calls for service and they are individually listed by call type. In addition to the
citizen reported calls, there were 26 officer initiated incidents (highliglae(I in ii )(1). This represents a
total of 69 calls for service.
In contrast to the previous year (calendar 2008) there were 40 calls for service which represents a 42%
difference, but given the low volume in total, the difference is most notably represented in"officer
initiated" patrol checks and is not representative of any significant issue that we would typically see in
the community.
In review of the activity, the calls for service associated with Red Coats Pub arc representative of a
typical bar or drinking establishment in Pleasanton. Recognizing this establishment is also a restaurant,
the activity and demographic changes after the dinner hour and the evening draws on. The activity
reported for 2009 is on par with that of 2008, as the business emerged in the community.
Not withstanding the listed activity, I support the additional conditions of approval proposed by your
office in your memo of January 28, 2010, as well as the optional additional conditions presented in the
agenda report to supplement our routine enforcement of this establishment.
