Mayor Hosterman concurred and thanked him as well. She said she had occasion to interact
with Mr. Roush even before her service as Mayor and was always surprised by his above par
dedication and service to the people of Pleasanton. She noted that he enjoys a great deal of
respect from attorneys throughout the state and said he is to be congratulated on a wonderful
career.
Councilmember Sullivan said he has worked directly with Mr. Roush since joining the Planning
Commission in 1998 and indirectly as a member of the public since 1994. He thanked him for
his service to the community as well as the help given to him personally, stating that both go
above and beyond what most city attorneys would offer.
Vice Mayor Thorne echoed previous comments and thanked Mr. Roush for the personal support
he offered with the League of California Cities and letters written on his behalf.
Councilmember McGovern said she also worked with Mr. Roush for many years before joining
the Council, that he was always very helpful and honest, and that both of those traits set the
community working well together.
COUNCIL REPORTS None
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:57 p.m., with a tribute to our
nation's men and women serving in the military. We wish to honor the memories of those who
have died in past wars in defense of our country including those who have died in the current
conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Diaz
City Clerk
City Council Minutes Page 13 of 13 December 15, 2009
