I think it is very reasonable to have music indoors at the restaurant on
Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 -12pm. It provides the following:
1) Nightlife for adults who don't want to travel to Walnut Creek;
2) The Wed Thursday music nights would allow Redcoats to diversify their offering to serve
different interests age groups, thus bringing more people to downtown Pleasanton;
3) A safe, well run gathering place for the young adults in our community;
I am also opposed to closing Redcoats patio at lOpm on nights they have indoor music. I believe
another restaurant, Barones, has recently been granted outside music until lOpm during the
week in addition to being allowed to have indoor music until midnight Monday— Thursday,
1:OOam Friday and Saturday and 11:OOpm Sunday. There are no requirements to clear their
outside patios or garden area at anytime before they close on any night.
The opposition being considered for Redcoats seems unreasonable and inconsistent for a
downtown establishment. Redcoats has been a welcome addition to the restaurant offerings and
gathering places for Pleasanton. Recoats is very well run and should be allowed to have indoor
music until midnight during the week and have their patio open until closing every night.
Living downtown is a lifestyle choice. It has been nice to see Pleasanton more lively lately, even
with the recession. Let's not turn off the lights early again, just when we've started gaining
momentum for our downtown.
Thank you for your consideration.
Carol Bolt
UPPLEMENTAL MAT Comm scion
Provided to the Planning
After Distribution of Packet
Pate gl trlautrdt a goo
