e. The City is also bisected by numerous man-made
and natural structures, i.e., creeks, canals,
arroyos, underpasses, overpasses, rail tracks
and trestles, bridges and a major highway.
These are natural phenomena of the terrain or
man-made to enhance travel into, out of, and
within the City. A Hazard
Area shall be defined as those areas beyond five
(5) minutes driving time of fire apparatus from the
fire station serving that particular district or
areas determined by the Chief to be either high
hazard areas or extreme hazard areas based on
steepness of slope and/or fuel loadings from
combustible plant materials as set forth in the
Safety Element of the General Plan.

Section 2: The City Attorney is directed to mail a copy of this
ordinance to the Department of Housing and Community
Development within thirty days of its adoption as
required by Health and Safety Code Section 1795~.7.

Section 3: This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen
(15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a
newspaper of general circulation published in the City
of Pleasanton.

Section 4: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days
after the date of its final passage and adoption.

- 4 -
