PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC- 2006 -56 <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND CHAPTER 17.04 (CONDOMINIUM <br />CONVERSIONS) AND CHAPTER 17.44 (INCLUSIONARY ZONING) OF THE <br />PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE, AS FILED UNDER CASE PRZ -35 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has filed an application to amend Chapter 17.04 <br />(Condominium Conversions) and Chapter 17.44 Inclusionary Zoning) of the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code to reflect changes in State law and to address the <br />potential community and regional impact of losing affordable rental units; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of October 18, 2006, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning the amendments to the Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed amendments, when <br />implemented, would provide a means of minimizing or avoiding the hardship <br />caused by the displacement of households unable to purchase their rental units, to <br />maintain diversity of housing at all income levels, to assure that conversions <br />comply with applicable building codes, and to establish a public review process. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. <br />Recommends approval of Case PRZ -35, the application of the City of Pleasanton <br />to amend Chapter 17.04 (Condominium Conversions) and Chapter 17.44 <br />(Inclusionary Zoning) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to reflect changes in <br />State law and to address the potential community and regional impact of losing <br />affordable rental units, as shown on Exhibit A and Exhibit B, attached hereto and <br />made part of this case by reference. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br />1 <br />
