' <br />Analysis of power'rates for <br />pumping under' existing P -15 -A <br />schedule and new C -6 -A schedule. <br />PETITIONS RECEIVED: <br />Petition received from Druids' Circle to hold dance in I.O.O.F. <br />Hall on July. 20, 1946. <br />RECESS: <br />The Mayor declared a recess for examination of claims and <br />Officers' Reports. <br />ACTION -ON CLAIMS AND REPORTS: <br />The meeting was again called to order. On motion of Councilman <br />Oxsen, seconded by. Councilman Mezza and approved by-all Councilmen <br />present, it was ordered that claims NOS. 367 to 394, inclusive,, <br />amounting to $920.67, be paid as presented. All Officers' Reports <br />were approved and ordered filed. <br />ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: <br />It was ordered that the Clerk advise the Pacific Gas and Elec- <br />tric Co. that the existing power schedule be retained for the City <br />pump s . - <br />,The Gospel Conference of the World, Inc-., was represented at <br />the meeting by Rev. Stearns. He was advised that the City ordinances <br />would be checked and that he would be given an answer by July 3rd. <br />All other communications were ordered filed. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />LAWS AND JUDICIARY COMMITTEE: Councilman Brenner stated that it <br />was necessary to hire an additional man for police and utility work. <br />On motion of Councilman Brenner,' seconded by Councilman Mezza and <br />,approved by all Council members present, it was ordered that an ad- <br />ditional utility man be employed. Councilman Brenner advised that he <br />was to be absent from.the State for some portion of the month of July. <br />STREETS AND BUILDINGS COMMITTEE: Councilman Oxsen advised that <br />a letter had been directed to the owner of the Frudden store demand- <br />ing compliance with the Building Ordinance but no response had been <br />received. It was ordered that the matter be put over for another 30 <br />days. Councilman Oxsen recommended that Mr. Aolb be allowed to re- <br />rove 3. trees from in front of his residence on main 6tree t. . <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES .COMMITTEE: Councilman Mezza r.eported that the <br />pump at Black Avenue was not producing • the required 600 gals. per <br />minute i <br />e and that the .old pump was frozen, and -would not operate. Mr. <br />Yount-of the San Francisco. Water Dept'. had been advised of -these <br />conditions and'had promised to,00rrect -them. The Sewer Farm flume <br />job had not been started due to scarcity of Materials and shortage <br />of help. It was decided that no action be taken in regard to water <br />service to F. Adams' property on Vineyard Avenue' until Mr. Adams <br />submitted a request for service. . <br />FIRE DEPT. AND CITY HALL COMMITTEE: No report due to the ab- <br />sence of Councilman Hansen. Acting Fire Chief Geo. West submitted <br />a list of lots burned'and charges against the owners. The Clerk <br />was instructed to bill the owners for the Fire Dept. On motion of <br />Councilman Mezza, seconded by Councilman Brenner and approved by all <br />Councilmen present, it was ordered that the annual payment of $240.,90 <br />be made to the Fire Dept. <br />Resolution No. 1912, authorizing the July 1, 1946, semi - annual pay- <br />ment of .180.00 to the County for Health Dept. Services, was adopted <br />on motion of Councilman Mezza, seconded by Councilman Brenner and <br />approved by all Councilman. present. The Clerk was directed to con- <br />tact the County Authorities relative to renewal of the-Health Service <br />Agreement. <br />
