Officials <br />Conference <br />63 <br />$430.00 <br />.439.87 <br />p869.87 <br />Renewal of fire insurance on <br />City Hall <br />Water Analysis <br />Work to start on Pleasanton Ave. <br />Designation of streets of major <br />importance. <br />Convention to be held Oct. 21 -24 <br />RECESS was ordered for examination of Claims and Reports. <br />and <br />ACTION ON CLAIMS: The meeting was again called to order /on motion of <br />Councilman Mezza, seconded by Councilman Brenner and approved by all <br />Councilmen present,-it was ordered that Claims Nos. 57 to 75 incl. <br />amounting to $1,723.37 be paid as presented. <br />ACTION ":: ON REPORTS: All Officers' Reports were .approved and ordered <br />filed. <br />ACTION ON0jOMMUNICATIONS : The Clerk and City Attorney were directed <br />to check /the adequacy of fire insurance carried on all Town properties. <br />All other communications were ordered filed. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />LAWS AND JUDICIARY: Councilman Brenner reported that Chief of Police <br />Delucchi was on vacation. The Police Dept. was instructed to have <br />the pedestrian crossing sign on Main St. at St. Mary's St. put out <br />every day. <br />STREETS AND BLDGS; Councilman Oxsen reported that the Street Dept. <br />had repaired Angela and Abbie Sts. between 2nd and 3rd Sts. with the <br />assistance of prison help. He suggested that accumulated gas tax <br />funds might be used to widen-Ike Main St. south of Rose Ave. After <br />discussion of this problem, it was moved by Councilman Oxsen and <br />seconded by Councilman Brenner that parallel parking be given a trial <br />on the west side of Main St. between Rose Ave. and Angela St. The <br />motion was pproved by all Councilmen present. <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES: Councilman Mezza reported that the Engineer for the <br />Mosquito Abatement District had been on vacation and he had been unablei <br />to contact him relative to removal of tules and the Sewer Farm. He <br />also reported that the septic tank had been cleaned and leaks repaired. <br />CITY ATTORNEY NILSON reported that he had prepared a letter to the <br />Board of Supervisors requesting funds from the State grant to the <br />County for planning for the proposed sewage disposal improvements. <br />SUPT. OF STREETS MEDEIROS reported that the owner of the Mexico Linda <br />Cafe had not complied with a request to repair damaged sidewalk in <br />front of the premises. It was decided to postpone the sidewalk <br />repair program until the City Attorney had outlined the procedure to <br />be followed. Supt. Medeiros also suggested that street signs be <br />installed at all intersections. Councilman Oxsen was requested to <br />check the number required and cost of installation. <br />FIRST ASST. CHIEF OF POLICE AMARO reported that the police car had <br />broken.down but was now repaired. He also advised that the car <br />needed three new tires. Councilman Mezza suggested that new tires be <br />procured for the Police car and the older tires could be used on <br />Water and Street Dept. trucks. <br />ENGINEER SOBIELA advised that there was no sewer on Railroad Ave. to <br />serve the proposed new Telephone Bldg. Councilman Mezza was requested <br />to prepare an estimate of the cost of extending the required sewer on <br />Railroad Ave. and also on Rose Ave.- <br />
