1 <br />1 <br />Pleasanton, California <br />July 15, 1946 <br />The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in adjourned regular <br />session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor Earl Trimingham <br />presiding.' Present at roll call were Councilmen Oxsen, Hansen, <br />and Mezza. Absent, Councilman Brenner. <br />The meet -ing was held for the purpose of opening bids called for the <br />purchase of. a new police car. Only one bid was received - from <br />Sammie Evans, Ford Dealer, 1368 w First Street, Livermore, who <br />proposed to furnish a new 1946 Deluxe Fordor Ford Sedan for 1,390.10, <br />less an estimated amount of $60.00 for Federal tax exemptions. He <br />also proposed to purchase the present police car for the sum of <br />$850.00. <br />Attorney ldiison examined the bid and advised that it complied with the <br />specifications and other requirements. He then' prepared Resolution <br />No. 1915 authorizing Mayor Trimingham to enter into a contract with <br />Sammie Evans for the purchase of a new car and sale of. the old car <br />in accordance with the specifications and proposal received. <br />Resolution No 1915 was adopted on motion of Councilman Hansen, . <br />seconded by Councilman Mezza and approved by Councilmen Oxsen, Hansen, <br />Mezza and Trimmingham. Absent, Councilman Brenner. <br />Councilman Mezza was excused from the meeting at 8:45'P.M. <br />The Clerk then read a telegram received from the Governor relative <br />to the need for rent controls. A copy of the reply' of the Alamieda <br />County Board of Supervisors to a similar inquiry from the Governor <br />was•also read. The Supervisors had recommended that the State take <br />the necessary action rather than have it done by individual counties <br />and cities. The Council was in agreement with this policy and de- <br />cided that no further action should be taken by the Council at this <br />time. <br />After informal discussion of various matters the meeting wad adjourned <br />at 10:15 P.M. to meet again in regular session at 8:00 P.M. on ;onday, <br />'August 5, 1946. <br />
