1 1 Pleasanton, California July 15, 1946 The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in adjourned regular session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor Earl Trimingham presiding.' Present at roll call were Councilmen Oxsen, Hansen, and Mezza. Absent, Councilman Brenner. The meet -ing was held for the purpose of opening bids called for the purchase of. a new police car. Only one bid was received - from Sammie Evans, Ford Dealer, 1368 w First Street, Livermore, who proposed to furnish a new 1946 Deluxe Fordor Ford Sedan for 1,390.10, less an estimated amount of $60.00 for Federal tax exemptions. He also proposed to purchase the present police car for the sum of $850.00. Attorney ldiison examined the bid and advised that it complied with the specifications and other requirements. He then' prepared Resolution No. 1915 authorizing Mayor Trimingham to enter into a contract with Sammie Evans for the purchase of a new car and sale of. the old car in accordance with the specifications and proposal received. Resolution No 1915 was adopted on motion of Councilman Hansen, . seconded by Councilman Mezza and approved by Councilmen Oxsen, Hansen, Mezza and Trimmingham. Absent, Councilman Brenner. Councilman Mezza was excused from the meeting at 8:45'P.M. The Clerk then read a telegram received from the Governor relative to the need for rent controls. A copy of the reply' of the Alamieda County Board of Supervisors to a similar inquiry from the Governor was•also read. The Supervisors had recommended that the State take the necessary action rather than have it done by individual counties and cities. The Council was in agreement with this policy and de- cided that no further action should be taken by the Council at this time. After informal discussion of various matters the meeting wad adjourned at 10:15 P.M. to meet again in regular session at 8:00 P.M. on ;onday, 'August 5, 1946.
