1 <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR reported: <br />7 Permits issued for a total estimated construction cost of $10,000.00. <br />•Fees Collected $45.60. <br />CITY JUDGE reported: <br />Fines and forfeited bail collected: $1,134.50 <br />FIRE CHIEF reported: <br />MILK INSPECTOR reported: <br />17 Samples tested in August. <br />RECESS was ordered for •exavination of Claims and Reports. <br />Mike of G. I. Taxi asked the Council if they would pass a city ordinance reg- <br />ulating Taxi Company's <br />CN Council agreed to the proposal, and requested City Attorney Gale to draft and <br />Ordinance. <br />CITY STREETS Councilman Hansen stated that he.had checked the trees at Mr. <br />czt Whitings and felt they should be removed. Joe can cut th m down if we could <br />get someone to top them. Joe will check with Jon Huckins. Councilman Hansen <br />instructed Joe to do the road work on 3rd and Angela in_ conjunction with the <br />curb and gutter work. <br />1 <br />Clerk was instructed to contact Reno Cairo in regards to this work also. <br />City Attorney Gale turned over checks, to the Clerk for the following parties, <br />as a deposit for the curb and gutter work on 3rd and Angela Streets: <br />Mr. Irwin 50.00 <br />Mr. Arendt 75.00 <br />Mr. Andrade 75.00 <br />Mr. Toronto 100.00 <br />Mrs. Olsen 173.75 (estimated cost.) <br />Councilman Trimingham ggreed to check with the Fire Department in regards to <br />the usual $240.00 contribution. Mr. Trimingham also said he would look into <br />the matter of trimming the trees behind the City Hall. <br />UTILITES: Councilman Abrott reported that the Water Department had purchased <br />a used LeRoi compressor and it appeared to be in'godd condition. Councilman <br />Abrott also rejected that there is too much dirt in with the Tules to burn <br />them and it may be necessary to soak them with oil to stop them from growing <br />and make them easier to burn. <br />A discussion regarding the run off drainage at the far end of the old pond <br />area, thru the W.P.R.R. property was held over until Mayor Oxsen and Councilman <br />Trimingham could check with Supervisor's about having the flood control com- <br />mission check this situation. <br />Mayor Oxsen stated that he had discussed the lime situation with Mr. Brenner, <br />and that Mr. Brenner had offered $250.00 as his share of the cost of the Lime <br />during the winery season. <br />Therefore, it was agreed that the 1951 sewage Disposal charge to the Garatti <br />Winery, was set at $250.00 <br />It was reported that the Fire Hydrants are arriving and the sale price for the <br />old ones would be around $9.00 for Right angle and $4.90 for 45 <br />Mayor Oxsen stated that he had obtained four 4" hydrants, some R.R. tyes and <br />telephone poles from the County. <br />Mrs. Hall informed the Mayor that the Housing Authority had several vacancies <br />due to the "Freeze" but were awaiting one year extension. <br />Mayor Oxsen stated that the Police Car Siren was worn out, authorization was <br />granted to purchase a new Model W 77 Federal at $105.00 <br />7 5 <br />
