The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in regular session at 8:05 P.M. on <br />the above date with Mayor Oxsen in the chair. Roll call showed; Councilmen Hewitson, <br />Hansen, Trimingham and Toney present. <br />Absent none: <br />It was decided that this meeting would serve to ratify the payroll and any <br />pressing matters all other business would be taken up at the adjourned meeting, <br />Tuesday July llth. <br />REPORTS: <br />Councilman Hewitson No report. <br />Councilman Hansen Expressed his desire, to obtain help for the Street Dept. <br />after next years Fair Parade. <br />Councilman Trimingham Reported that Reno Cairo informed him of a Street <br />sweeper at a surplus yard that is in good condition and is probably available at <br />a reasonable price (by bid). Councilman Trimingham was asked to look into the pos- <br />sibilities of obtaining same. Councilman Trimingham reported that Mrs. Stovall <br />called him this morning in regards to the benches in the Memorial Park and that <br />one had been moved and should be, replaced; Also that during the recent heat wave <br />several trees on 2nd. Street had cracked and should be checked before we have any <br />wind; as they may be a hazard. Councilman Trimingham requested that the Street <br />Dept.' check the trees in the vicinity of Mrs. Arendts resident and trim same if <br />they present a hazard. Councilman Trimingham also reported that Alex Higuera had <br />been hired to replace Carlo Cavestri and his duties of taking care of the City <br />Hall, its groucds, and the park behind the City Hall also that Mr. Higuera <br />would move into the house at McKinley Park and care for same in turn for the <br />quarters. <br />Councilman Toney No report. <br />Water "Fountain: The Clerk was ordered to purchase a new water fountain from Hager's <br />Refrigeration Service as quoted: Kelvinator Model f1 P.E. 10 at $239.00 installed <br />plus tax. <br />The City Clerk Was instructed to write Sheriff Gleason and a copy'to UnderSheriff <br />Creel °in appreciation for their co- operation and assistence during the Fair Parade. <br />The Clerk was also instructed to write Mr. Sam Whiting, thanking him for the use of <br />his Cadillac Convertible for both the Livermore and Pleasanton Parades. <br />Painting the City Hall: Mayor Oxsen is to obtain an estimate for painting the outside <br />of the City Hall. <br />Semi Monthly Pay -roll: The system of paying City Employees semi monthly was again <br />discussed and was reported on by City Att. Gale That a new Pay Resolution would <br />be necessary and that payment could be made on the 15th and last day of every month. <br />On a motion by Councilman Toney, and seconded by Councilman Hewitson and approved <br />by all Councilmen a Resolution be drawn to establish a semi- monthly pay -roll <br />to all regular and full time employees of the Town of Pleasanton to be inaugurated <br />July 15th. 1950. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2113: Authorising payment of salaries for the month of'June 1950, <br />in the amount of $2,864.50, was adopted on a motion by Councilman Hansen, seconded <br />by Councilman Trimingham and approved.by all Councilmen. <br />THE COUNCIL: W i vitggd..by the Livermore City Council to sit with them Monday <br />July 10th to heal from the City of Berkeley give instructions and advice <br />on setting up a Disaster Relief Committee. <br />THERE BEING no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 8 :55 P.M. to meet again in regular adjourned session at 8 :00 P.M.
