592 <br />Claims <br />For this reason the books show a balance due from the marshal on June 1, 1923 of the <br />sum of ,1778.82. <br />This amount is still a chargebagainst the marshal's account, although he has each <br />month apparently turned in all the moneys collected. <br />To remedy this matter it will be necessary for the board to authorize the <br />clerk to charge off this amount and in the future insist that each month the trial <br />balance show only what is actually due. <br />Owing to tye fact that the report for the year ending MO 31, 1924 has not yet <br />been filed with the board, I have as yet only made a partial audit and will just as <br />soon as I can get the books and other papers render to you a complete report covering <br />the business to June 1, 1924. <br />As the clerk has been using the books to make his report it would greatly incon- <br />venience him if I attempted to make an audit until his work is completed, hence there <br />will be a little delay. <br />A complaint eras made that motorists were driving about the streets of Pleasanton <br />in a reckless manner and that stpes should beta taken to stop the practice was re- <br />ferred to Trustee Orloff. <br />The request of the fire chief for 200 additional feet of hose was referred <br />to Trustee Pickard <br />The Clerk was instrcuted to communicate with the Southern Pacific Company <br />realtive to the installation of wig -wag signals at intersections. <br />The annual report of the clerk was read and ordered placed on file. <br />The applications of the Town marshal and the night.ratchman for their annual <br />vacations were referred to Trustee Orloff. <br />There being no further business the board adjour ed until the next regulat <br />Meeting. <br />Approved <br />President of the Board of Trutyee�s <br />N <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />T. The roll cal showed the folloing trustees present: <br />Trustees Garatti, Orloff, Bairos and Bruce. Absent: Trustee Pickard. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />An application for permission to hold a social dance on Main streetb on the night <br />of August 23rd, was received from Pleasanton Grove U. A. J. D. and there being no <br />oojection on the part of any member of the board the clerk was instructed to issue <br />the necessary permit. <br />Trustee Pickard came in at this stage of the meeting and assumed his seat. <br />The clerk reported that he had received a receipt from the contracting firm of <br />Heafy, Moore McNair, show ng that the town had paid for street work done by that <br />conern.
