CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 02-129 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS AND <br />DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 2002 MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION <br /> <br />the City Council has ordered consolidation of its municipal election with the <br />statewide general election pursuant to Elections Code Section 10403.5, and such <br />election was held on November 5, 2002; and <br /> <br />the conduct of such a consolidated election is governed by Election Code Section <br />10400 et seq., and voting precincts were established for the consolidated election <br />in accordance with the Election Code; and <br /> <br />the canvass has been duly made for the election of Mayor and two City <br />Councilmembers and Initiative Measure V, and the returns are as follows: <br /> <br />a. Total ballots cast were 20,151, representing approximately 59.1% of the <br />eligible voters in the City of Pleasanton <br /> <br />b. Names and number of votes for persons running for the office of Mayor: <br /> <br />Tom Pico 12,078 <br />Bill Eastman 7,410 <br /> <br />c. Names and number of votes for persons running for the office of City <br />Councilmember: <br /> <br />Jennifer Hosterman 7,871 <br />Steve Brozosky 6,895 <br />Cindy McGovem 6,701 <br />Jerry Thorne 6,100 <br />Robert Wright 5,585 <br /> <br />d. Number of Yes and No votes for Measure V (the Bemal Property Initiative) <br /> <br />Measure V - Yes 11,580 <br />Measure V - No 7,578 <br /> <br /> <br />
