CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1259 <br /> <br /> APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF THE PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE <br /> COMPANY OF AMERICA TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 14.6 ACRES <br /> LOCATED GENERALLY IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY WEST LAS <br /> POSITAS BOULEVARD, A PORTION OF THE FORMER RAILROAD <br /> RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION <br /> COMPANY, AND THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE STONERIDGE DRIVE <br /> EXTENSION, FROM "PUD (PLANNED UNIT <br /> DEVELOpMENT)-INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL AND OFFICES DISTRICT" <br /> TO THE "PUD (PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT)-HIGH DENSITY <br /> RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT" (PUD-86-6) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Prudential Insurance Company of America applied to <br /> have an approximately 14.5 acre site located generally <br /> in the area bounded by West Las Positas Boulevard, a <br /> portion of the former railroad right-of-way of the <br /> Southern Pacific Transportation Company, and the <br /> right-of-way of the Stoneridge Drive extension, rezoned <br /> from the "PUD (Planned Unit <br /> Development)-Industrial/Commercial and Offices District" <br /> to the "PUD (Planned Unit Development)-High Density <br /> Residential District"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, based on the Initial Environmental Study indicating no <br /> significant adverse effects on the environment, a <br /> negative declaration was adopted by Council on June 17, <br /> 1986; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council received the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation for approval of the rezoning; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on June 17, 1986; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this rezoning is consistent <br /> with the General Plan policies of the City of <br /> Pleasanton; <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Approves the rezoning of an approximately 14.5 acre <br /> site located generally in the area bounded by West Las <br /> Positas Boulevard, a portion of the former railroad <br /> right-of-way of the Southern Pacific Transportation <br /> Company, and the right-of-way of the Stoneridge Drive <br /> extension, rezoned from the "PUD (Planned Unit <br /> Development)-Industrial/Commercial and Offices District" <br /> to the "PUD (Planned Unit Development)-High Density <br /> Residential District." <br /> <br /> <br />
