Economic Development Business Anniversary Presentation <br /> Economic Development Director Pamela Ott presented awards to businesses celebrating <br /> milestones of 15, 20, 25 or 30 years in Pleasanton. <br /> 12. 1 -680 Express Lane "How Does It Work" Presentation <br /> Dave Hyams, Alameda County Congestion Management Agency, shared a brief slide and video <br /> presentation on the 1 -680 Express Lane. He stated that the 14 mile long project, managed by a <br /> JPA between Alameda and Santa Clara Counties, is currently under construction and expected <br /> to open in about 1 year. <br /> Mr. Hyams explained that single occupant vehicles will be able to use the HOV lane by paying a <br /> toll. Drivers will use their Fastrak transponder to communicate with a reader that notes vehicle <br /> entrance and exit to the lane. He said that the cost, which is yet to be determined, will utilize a <br /> dynamic pricing system dependent upon the congestion of the HOV lane itself as well as <br /> adjacent general purpose lanes. He said that those vehicles currently eligible to use the HOV <br /> lane will continue to do so free of charge. <br /> Vice -Mayor Cook Kallio inquired about entrance and exit locations. Mr. Akkawi stated there <br /> would be 3 entrances (Andrade Road, Washington Blvd., and Mission Drive) as well as 3 exit <br /> points (Automall Parkway, Jacklin Drive, and SR -237).
