THE CITY OF O <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT J <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> October 6, 2009 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY VALLEY <br /> SLURRY SEAL COMPANY FOR ANNUAL SLURRY SEALING OF <br /> VARIOUS CITY STREETS, CIP NO. 075004 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Construction of the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance. The project <br /> consisted of improving the roadway surface on various City streets by applying Type II <br /> black volcanic aggregate slurry seal coating and replacing the existing traffic striping <br /> and markers as part of an ongoing preventive maintenance program. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project improvements and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize payment of the project retention in the amount of $15,604.59 to Valley <br /> Slurry Seal Company thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This project is part of the City's preventive maintenance efforts and is expected to <br /> reduce long -term maintenance costs <br />
