CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-117 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING A PORTION OF THE CITY'S <br />BONDE II WATER TANK PROPERTY AS SURPLUS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City owns in fee a 1.17 acre site containing the Bonde II water tank and <br /> associated facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />portions of the water tank site are not being used for water facility purposes, <br />specifically a 0.13 acre portion located along the northerly boundary and a 0.29 <br />acre portion located at the southerly end of the parcel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of October 15, 2002, the City Council considered information that <br />the Bonde II water tank might not be expanded or augmented as part of the <br />updated Water Master Plan if an alternative, suitable location for another site could <br />be located; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />as the City Council has determined that if such alternative site can be located and <br />secured, it has no need for the two portions of the water tank site as described <br />above; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City finds that the most appropriate disposition for the two surplus portions of <br />the site is to sell the land to the adjacent parcel, provided that the owners of the <br />adjacent parcel, Allen and Sally Roberts, are willing to pay the fair market value. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Declares the 0.13 acre and 0.29 acre portions of the Bonde II water tank site, <br />shown generally on the attached Exhibit A, as surplus, provided that the City is <br />able to secure an alternative, suitable site for a water tank.. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City determines that the market value for the property is $2.90 per square foot. <br /> <br /> <br />
