Where there is a reference in the Code to the "Building Official" it shall mean the "Chief Building Official" or in the absence of the Chief, the Interim, Temporary or Acting Chief Building Official. Section 20.08.012 Deletions. Appendix Chapters 3 Division III, 13, 21, Division V of Chapter 22, 23, and 34 of the Uniform Building Code are deleted. Section 20.08.013 Section 106.4.4 - amended - Expiration Section 106.4.4 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code, is amended to read as follows: 106.4.4 Expiration. Every permit issued by the building official under the provisions of the uniform codes as adopted in this article shall expire by limitation and become null and void if one or more of the following conditions occur: 1. The work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date of issuance of such permit; or 2. The work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for 180 days at any time after such work has commenced; or 3. 180 days has elapsed since the most recent approval has been given by the Building Official for a required inspection, as enumerated in Section 108.5 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition (24 C.C.R.). If the permit has expired, before such work can be recommenced, a new permit shall be first obtained to do so, and the fee therefore shall be one half the amount required for a new permit for such work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and specifications for such work, and provided further that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year.
