Where there is a reference in the Code to the "Building <br />Official" it shall mean the "Chief Building Official" or in <br />the absence of the Chief, the Interim, Temporary or Acting <br />Chief Building Official. <br /> <br />Section 20.08.012 Deletions. <br /> <br />Appendix Chapters 3 Division III, 13, 21, Division V of Chapter <br />22, 23, and 34 of the Uniform Building Code are deleted. <br /> <br />Section 20.08.013 Section 106.4.4 - amended - Expiration <br /> <br />Section 106.4.4 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br /> (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building <br /> Code, is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 106.4.4 Expiration. <br />Every permit issued by the building official under the <br />provisions of the uniform codes as adopted in this <br />article shall expire by limitation and become null and <br />void if one or more of the following conditions <br />occur: <br /> 1. The work authorized by such permit is not <br /> commenced within 180 days from the date of <br /> issuance of such permit; or <br /> 2. The work authorized by such permit is <br /> suspended or abandoned for 180 days at any <br /> time after such work has commenced; or <br /> 3. 180 days has elapsed since the most recent approval <br /> has been given by the Building Official for a <br /> required inspection, as enumerated in Section 108.5 <br /> of the California Building Standards Code 2001 <br /> Edition (24 C.C.R.). <br />If the permit has expired, before such work can be <br />recommenced, a new permit shall be first obtained to do so, <br />and the fee therefore shall be one half the amount required <br />for a new permit for such work, provided no changes have <br />been made or will be made in the original plans and <br />specifications for such work, and provided further that such <br />suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year.
