Fifteenth 10.500 <br /> Sixteenth 11.000 <br /> Seventeenth 11.500 <br /> Eighteenth 12.000 <br /> Nineteenth and above 12.500 <br /> 12.4 Vacation Accumulation <br /> Any eligible employee may be allowed to have an accumulation of no more than <br /> two (2) years vacation accrual on his/her anniversary date. If the maximum <br /> vacation accrual is reached, the employee shall temporarily cease the further <br /> accrual of vacation until his/her vacation balance is reduced below the maximum <br /> accumulation. An employee reaching his/her maximum accrual shall be notified <br /> in writing by the Human Resources Department ninety (90) days in advance. <br /> If the requirements of the service are such that an employee cannot take his/her <br /> vacation for purposes of complying with the above, the employee's department <br /> head may make special arrangements including the continuation of vacation <br /> accrual to accommodate the employee if necessary. <br /> 12.5 Vacation Schedule <br /> The times during a calendar year at which an employee may take his/her vacation <br /> shall be determined by the Department Head or his/her designee with due regard <br /> for the wishes of the employee and particular regard for the needs of the service. <br /> Vacations may not be taken, however, in connection with an employee leaving <br /> City employment. <br /> If the requirements of the service are such that an employee can not take part or <br /> all of his/her annual vacation in a particular calendar year, such vacation shall be <br /> taken during the following calendar year. <br /> 12.6 Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> An employee shall be paid for all accrued vacation leave earned prior to the <br /> effective date of termination. Such compensation for eamed vacation shall be <br /> paid to the employee in one lump sum in a final check. <br /> Section 13. Sick Leave <br /> 13.1 Sick Leave Accrual <br /> All new full time employees hired on or after November 1, 1996 shall accrue sick <br /> leave at the rate of eight (8.0) hours for each month of service.
