CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF pLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1240 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-5.39(a), OF ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 2, TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF pLEASANTON TO REVOKE THE REQUIRED DISTANCES SEPARATING SECOND-STORY ADDITIONS FROM ADJOINING STRUCTURES IN THE R-1 DISTRICT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF pLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2-5.39(a), (Yards and Courts Related to Height of a Structure) of Article 3 (Site, Yard, Bulk, Usable Open Space and Screening and Landscaping Regulations), Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of pleasanton is hereby amended to read as follows: "In an R-1 District, at the time of initial construction, main structures exceeding 15 feet in height shall be separated by a distance of at least 20 feet; provided, however, portions of two structures, only one of which is in excess of 15 feet in height, shall be separated by at least 17 feet. Second-storY additions to the main structure may be constructed with the same setback as the existing first floor setback, provided that the addition does not encroach any farther into the setback than does the existing main structure- Accessory structures exceeding 15 feet in height shall be separated by a distance of at least 20 feet from any structure greater than 15 feet in height; accessory structures exceeding 15 feet in height shall be separated by a distance of at least 17 feet from any structure less than 15 feet in height-" Section 2: This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the "The Tri-ValleY Herald," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of pleasanton- Section 3: This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days following the date of its final passage and adoption- INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of pleasanton on January 7, 1986-
