Sec. 2-2.3416 - DEMOLITIONr ALTERATIONr REMOVAL~ OR <br /> <br /> CHANGE PROHIBITED WITHOUT CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br /> <br /> A. No person shall demolish, remove, alter, or <br /> materially change the appearance of any structure, portion of <br /> a structure, or sign, visible from a public street or way, <br /> nor shall any permit for such actions be issued without said <br /> person first having applied for and been issued a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness by the Board of Design Review. <br /> <br /> B. Certificates shall be issued for all such proposed <br /> actions determined by the Board of Design Review to be <br /> consistent with the purpose of the District. The Board of <br /> Design Review shall be guided in their determination by the <br /> provisions of this Article and the adopted Downtown <br /> Pleasanton Design Guidelines. Certificates of <br /> Appropriateness shall be in addition to and not in lieu of <br /> any other required permit. The Board of Deign Review may <br /> adopt criteria delegating certain or all such decisions on <br /> Certificates of Appropriateness to the Zoning Administrator <br /> or his designee. <br /> <br /> Sec. 2-2.3417 - CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS REQUIRED FOR <br /> DEMOLITION <br /> <br /> No person shall demolish an existing structure of primary or <br />secondary significance without first obtaining a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness from the Board of Design Review. Structures of <br />primary or secondary significance are those determined to be so <br />by the City Council, from time to time, and adopted pursuant to <br />the regulations governing adoption and changes in the Downtown <br /> <br /> - 18 - <br /> <br /> <br />
