ATTACHMENT 4
From: Michael Knuppe
Sent: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 12:43 PM
To: Steve Otto
Subject: Re: Barones Proposal
Thanks Steve,
It is the intent of this property owner to try to have the City work out an equitable compromise to
the Barone proposal for extended hours and outdoor music.
Unfortunately my new tenant at 520 A St. Johns Street has just informed me by telephone that
they consider this a "material change" in the terms and conditions of our mutual lease agreement;
and if it is approved as presented by the City, then they will be vacating the premises. That will
cost me $2600 per month, or $31,200 annually. This agreement was just signed on August
1st. Steve, losing this tenant is not acceptable.
Therefore I ask the Planning commission to please consider other property owners rights when
weighing this decision.
I would suggest that the music be moved inside, And the bar be moved outside or to the rear of
the property.
If this is not feasible then I ask the City to limit the hours aof operation. I think the proposed 2:00
AM closing time on the weekend is too excessive for people to be milling about the neighborhood.
12:00 AM should be adequate. Also, I think closing off music at 9:OOPM during the week (Sun
Thurs) for working people; is late enough to tolerate singing and/or music outdoors.
Sincerely,
Michael Knuppe
Owner of 738 -762 Peters Ave. 520 A &B St. Johns Street
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Provided to the Planning Commission
After Distribution of Packet p
1]
Date Distributed: R /o
