2005 Pleasanton Plan 2025 DRAFT 9.0 Air Quality and Climate Change <br /> Program 6.3: For development approved prior to adoption of a Climate Action Plan, require the following Best <br /> Management practices: 16 <br /> BMP #1: Single and multi family residential and commercial development to comply with the City <br /> of Pleasanton's Green Bvi &ing Ordinance. As far as feasible, residential projects should incorporate: <br /> resource efficient landscaping, energy efficient hot water distribution systems; high efficiency toilets <br /> and other low flow plumbing fixtures; high efficiency heating and cooling systems; pre plumbing for <br /> solar water heating; installation of wiring conduit for future photovoltaic systems; installation of <br /> Energy Star appliances; and Green Points in the Community Design and Planning category. <br /> BMP #2: Development shall incorporate energy efficient appliances and systems that meet Energy <br /> Star standards. <br /> BMP #3: Where feasible, incorporate solar roofs (or other alternative energy measures) into <br /> commercial development sufficient to meet 12.5 percent of the building's annual energy usage. <br /> alit.— ions of enerte savin• ma be .repared at the c.. c.on dra• s E__ T.1e <br /> rResidential development to be solar ready, including proper solar orientation, electrical conduit <br /> installed for solar electric system wiring, plumbing installed for solar hot water system, and space <br /> provided for solar hot water storage tank. <br /> BMP#4: Require transit and bicycle /pedestrian connections in new development, where feasible. <br /> BMP #5: For commercial /industrial projects, prepare and implement a voluntary Trip Reduction <br /> Plan, using the resources available through the City of Pleasanton's Transportation Systems <br /> Management program as described in Chapter 17.24 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code.
