We previously owned our own home in Hayward for 30
years.
After reviewing the proposal and attending some of the meetings at the park, we feel
there are enough options in the proposal that would meet everyone's needs depending on
their circumstances. I also believe that the proposal has many additional advantages for
those of us that have the newer houses. Some of these would be:
I. Ability to sublet
2. Tax write off for interest on the loan for the land
3. More control over how the park is run
4. By owning the land, it would make it more attractive to sell
As we are already paying the higher end of the space rental fee, this would probably just
be off set with a mortgage payment on the land. This could be a problem for those that
have lived here for a long time and are paying substantially less in monthly rent. But as I
stated they would have the option to stay and rent as they currently are all ready doing.
For these reasons stated we are in favor of the conversion and will continue to do
whatever we can to support it.
Sincerely,
Sharon and James Turner
