After briefly discussing the request, Council did not provide support to draft a formal resolution. <br /> COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Thorne reported that he and other council members attended a meeting of the <br /> League of California Cities, school board members, and County Board of Supervisors in <br /> Sacramento last week. The purpose of the meeting was to consider options for improving <br /> government and the budget process. Two methods of approach were identified: a limited <br /> constitutional convention and an issue -by -issue process that is limited in terms of the time required. <br /> The issues identified for consideration dealt with the protection of local funding, control, and <br /> revenue streams as well as term limits and a Brown Act like budgeting requirement. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:52 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Karen Diaz <br /> City Clerk <br /> City Council Minutes Page 15 of 15 July 21, 2009 <br />
