WMAC owns and operates the Altamont Landfill and ource Recovery Facility <br /> "AL loca d at 10840 Altamont Pass Road in Alameda Co Prior to December 1996, <br /> WMA had opera the ALRRF pursuant to Conditional Use P it C -6395 (the "Existing <br /> Permi and other pn. use permits. Currently, the ALRRF cepts franchise and non franchise <br /> waste, and franchise w• is accepted for disposal from eda County jurisdictions and from <br /> the Ci and County of San rancisco. <br /> B. WMAC applied t. e County in 1'' 1 for a new use permit to expand the ALRRF <br /> by ad. ing up to 196 million tons o "sposal ca. ity, expanding daily tonnage from a permitted <br /> level .f 1 1,150 tons per day to 20,365 .ns day, and expanding the area from which solid <br /> waste s accepted for disposal. On May 1996, the County's Zoning Administrator certified a <br /> Final nvironmental Impact Report (re ren as State Clearinghouse #92083047) and <br /> appro ed Conditional Use Permit C -:512 (the "6 Permit which provided for a reduced <br /> expan ion of ALRRF including 1 million tons o posal capacity and an overall requirement <br /> that th volume of wastes acce ed for disposal shall no xceed 11,150 tons per day as <br /> calcul ted on an annual bas (260 operating days per year.
