CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 02-069 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF <br />APPLICATION (USED OIL RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT <br />APPLICATION) TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED <br />WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling <br />Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and <br />maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or <br />appropriate disposal of used oil; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the <br /> responsibility for the administration of the program within the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will enter into an agreement with the State of California for <br /> implementation of a used oil collection program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that submission of an ongoing waste oil block grant application to educate and <br /> assist residents in the proper disposal of waste oil and filters will continue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />that the Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program is funded by oil consumers in <br />California and is administered by the California Integrated Waste Management <br />Board and the Used Oil Grant will be managed by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br />Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />that on June 18, 2002, at 7:00 p.m., at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old <br />Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the <br />above waste oil block grant. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the California <br />Integrated Waste Management Board for a 2002/2005 Used Oil Recycling Block <br />Grant. <br /> <br /> <br />
