CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-041 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANTS OF EASEMENTS <br />TO AND ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT FROM ALAMEDA <br />COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL, ZONE 7, CONCERNING VAL <br />VISTA COMMUNITY PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />due to the significant expansion of Val Vista Park it was determined to be <br />necessary to create the primary park access from Johnson Drive, immediately <br />south of Stoneridge Drive, in order to minimize vehicle trips through the existing <br />residential neighborhood that surrounds the park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a proposed pedestrian and vehicle bridge from the southern terminus of Johnson <br />Drive would cross the County-owned G-I-1 flood control channel providing <br />access to the park parking lot and a grant of easement in perpetuity from Alameda <br />County Flood Control, Zone 7, has been offered for this purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />two easements have been prepared by the City to allow Zone 7 maintenance <br />vehicles access over the proposed park parking lot to its G-l-1 flood control <br />channel, and from the G-1-1 channel to Stoneridge Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council received a report (SR 02:100) from the Director of Parks and Community <br />Services describing the improvements to Val Vista Community Park and the <br />necessity for these easements; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />The Grant of Easement from Alameda County Flood Control, Zone 7, to the City <br />of Pleasanton is hereby accepted and the appropriate City officers are instructed to <br />take whatever action necessary to implement said acceptance. <br /> <br />The City Manager is authorized to execute two Grants of Easement to Alameda <br />County Flood Control, Zone 7, for the purpose of allowing Zone 7 maintenance <br />vehicles access over the proposed park parking lot to its G-l-1 flood control <br />channel, and from the G- 1-1 channel to Stoneridge Drive. <br /> <br /> <br />
