CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 02-041 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANTS OF EASEMENTS TO AND ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL, ZONE 7, CONCERNING VAL VISTA COMMUNITY PARK WHEREAS, due to the significant expansion of Val Vista Park it was determined to be necessary to create the primary park access from Johnson Drive, immediately south of Stoneridge Drive, in order to minimize vehicle trips through the existing residential neighborhood that surrounds the park; and WHEREAS, a proposed pedestrian and vehicle bridge from the southern terminus of Johnson Drive would cross the County-owned G-I-1 flood control channel providing access to the park parking lot and a grant of easement in perpetuity from Alameda County Flood Control, Zone 7, has been offered for this purpose; and WHEREAS, two easements have been prepared by the City to allow Zone 7 maintenance vehicles access over the proposed park parking lot to its G-l-1 flood control channel, and from the G-1-1 channel to Stoneridge Drive; and WHEREAS, Council received a report (SR 02:100) from the Director of Parks and Community Services describing the improvements to Val Vista Community Park and the necessity for these easements; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2: The Grant of Easement from Alameda County Flood Control, Zone 7, to the City of Pleasanton is hereby accepted and the appropriate City officers are instructed to take whatever action necessary to implement said acceptance. The City Manager is authorized to execute two Grants of Easement to Alameda County Flood Control, Zone 7, for the purpose of allowing Zone 7 maintenance vehicles access over the proposed park parking lot to its G-l-1 flood control channel, and from the G- 1-1 channel to Stoneridge Drive.
