CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 02-029 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GENERAL AMENDMENTS FOR THE DOWNTOWN AREA PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to amend portions of the General Plan Land Use Element relating to the 'Downtown' area of Pleasanton, consisting of approximately 308 + acres, and bounded by the Arroyo del Valle and Union Pacific Railroad Corridor to the north, Third Street to the east, Bernal Avenue to the south, and Pleasanton Avenue and Rose Avenue to the west; and WHEREAS, the proposed amendments involve changing the land use designations for approximately seventeen different areas in the Downtown, as set forth more particularly in the attached Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a noticed workshop on November 28, 2001, and public heating on January 9, 2002, regarding the proposed General Plan amendments and recommended approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a noticed public hearing on February 5, 2002, and certified as complete an Environmental Impact Report prepared concerning the General Plan amendments after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recon'nnendations of City staff; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendments are consistent with the goals and policies of the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Approves the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the General Plan as set forth more particularly in the attached Exhibit "A". Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
