CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-029 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GENERAL <br />AMENDMENTS FOR THE DOWNTOWN AREA <br /> <br />PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has applied to amend portions of the General Plan Land Use <br />Element relating to the 'Downtown' area of Pleasanton, consisting of <br />approximately 308 + acres, and bounded by the Arroyo del Valle and Union <br />Pacific Railroad Corridor to the north, Third Street to the east, Bernal Avenue to <br />the south, and Pleasanton Avenue and Rose Avenue to the west; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the proposed amendments involve changing the land use designations for <br />approximately seventeen different areas in the Downtown, as set forth more <br />particularly in the attached Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission held a noticed workshop on November 28, 2001, and <br />public heating on January 9, 2002, regarding the proposed General Plan <br />amendments and recommended approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council held a noticed public hearing on February 5, 2002, and certified <br />as complete an Environmental Impact Report prepared concerning the General <br />Plan amendments after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits and <br />recon'nnendations of City staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendments are consistent <br /> with the goals and policies of the General Plan. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Approves the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the General Plan as <br />set forth more particularly in the attached Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
