CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1364 AMENDMENTTO CHAPTER 20.08 (BUILDING CODE) RELATING TO PROCEDURES FOR ISSUANCE OF GRADING PERMITS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Chapter 20.08 (Building Code) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding the following: (a) Add a new section 20.08.080 to read as follows: "20.08.080 Section 7003 amended - Exceptions for requirement of grading permit. Section 7003 of the Uniform Building Code is amended by adding the following: Notwithstanding the above, no grading shall be exempt if, in the determination of the building official, the grading proposed (1) is being done in contemplation subsequent development of the site, or (2) would be detrimental to the general welfare of users of the adjoining and surrounding lots." (b) Add a new Section 20.08,085 to read as follows: "20.08,085 Section 7006(g) amended - Issuance of grading permits. Section 7006(g) of the Uniform Building Code is amended y adding the following: Notwithstanding other sections of this Code, the issuance of a grading permit shall be subject to the discretionary approval of the building official. The building official shall consider the relationship of the proposed finish grade to the finish grade of the adjoining lots and the affect of the proposed grading on ridges or other prominent visual landforms, trees and other vegetation, drainage patterns, maintenance responsibilities, and such other effects as the grading may have on the public's general welfare.
