Resolution No. PC-01-58 Page 2 The granting of the variance will not be detrimental to the public health, safety or welfare, or materially injurious to properties or improvements in the vicinity. The proposed front yard fence has been in place for a number of years with no detrimental impact on the public health, safety, or welfare. The existing landscaping is sufficient to screen large portions of the fence, which, in conjunction with the proposed 14 ft. setback, reduces its impact on the surrounding neighborhood. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined not to approve the Groshans' application, but that the existing fence in its present location (a minimum of 14 feet from the front property line at its closest point) is appropriate. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Approves Case PV-54, a variance from the Pleasanton Municipal Code to allow the present fence to be retained in its current configuration, a minimum of 14-feet from the front property line, located at 668 Abbie Street, subject to the conditions shown in Exhibit "B," attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption unless appealed prior to that time.
