CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-018 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF BRADLEY <br />DRIVE TO TOM BURNETT LANE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Bradley Drive is an approximately 225 foot street segment located between <br />Stoneridge Drive and Johnson Drive in the Meyer Business Park; and <br /> <br />the Thoratec Corporation has requested the City to consider renaming Bradley <br />Drive, located next to its company headquarters, to Tom Bumett Lane in memory <br />of Thomas E. Burnett, Jr.; and <br /> <br />Mr. Burnett is widely recognized as one of the heroes who thwarted the hijacking <br />of United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001; and <br /> <br />the City invited public input on the name change from businesses and property <br />owners in the Meyer Business Park and no objections were received; and <br /> <br />at its meeting of February 19, 2002, Council reviewed the report of the Director of <br />Planning and Community Development (SR 02:040) regarding the request to <br />rename this street. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Council approves renaming Bradley Drive to "Tom Bumett Lane" in memory of <br />Thomas E. Bumett, Jr., as shown on the attached location map. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
