CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-015 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION OF UP <br />TO $200,000 FOR CTV CHANNEL 30 STUDIO REMODEL <br />PROJECT IN COOPERATION WITH THE CITIES OF <br />DUBLIN, LIVERMORE AND SAN RAMON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon are provided cable <br /> television service by AT&T Broadband; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in late March 2001, the four cities adopted a revised cable ordinance and approved <br /> a ten-year AT&T Franchise Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Tri-Valley Community Television (CTV) is a non-profit corporation established in <br />1983 by the four Tri-Valley cities to manage the cities' three community access <br />channels for governmental and educational programming; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton received $250,000 from AT&T Broadband based on the <br /> recently negotiated 2001 AT&T Cable Television Franchise Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this special grant is earmarked for the sole purpose of expanding and remodeling <br />the CTV studio and offices ($50,000 has been utilized to purchase the television <br />cameras located in the Council Chambers); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 5, 2002, the City Council received a report (SR 02:035) <br /> from the City Manager about the use for the requested appropriation. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Authorizes an appropriation of up to $200,000 for the CTV Channel 30 studio <br />remodel project in cooperation with the Cities of Dublin, Livermore and San <br />Ramon. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
