THE CITY OF 16
pL-E AS4NTON CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
June 16, 2009
City Manager
TITLE: ADOPTION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOUR YEAR CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 2009 -2010 THROUGH
2012 -2013
SUMMARY
Every two years the City Council adopts a Capital Improvement Program to assure that
infrastructure and capital improvement needs are adequately addressed and planned.
The proposed Capital Improvement Program establishes a course of action to meet
capital improvement needs over the next four years. The first two years of the program
are recommended for funding. The final two years of the program are included for
planning purposes only.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
1. Approve Attachment A, a resolution adopting the 2009 -2010 through 2012 -2013
Capital Improvement Program.
2. Appropriate the revenues and approve project expenditures for the projects
recommended for funding in fiscal years 2009 -2010 and 2010 -2011.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
This CIP includes an estimated $50,032,492 in total financial resources and
expenditures estimated at $32,429,855 over the next four years. All of these projects are
funded from revenues traditionally earmarked for the City's Capital Improvement
Program, including a General Fund transfer. As a result, there should not be any
additional financial impact on the City except for those detailed in the Program. Should
the Council decide to add or amend projects to the Program, additional impacts may
occur.
