PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2375 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING A GENERAL PLAN <br />AMENDMENT AS FILED UNDER CASE GP -83 -11 AS INITIATED <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, a neighborhood park is very definitely needed in the west portion <br />of Vintage Hills. The Park and Recreation Commission has <br />looked at the approximately 9.00 acres located on the northeast <br />corner of Tawny Drive and Bernal Avenue (formerly Pico /Vineyard <br />Avenue); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council initiated a general plan amendment on the <br />property to change it's land use designation from "Medium <br />Density Residential" to "High Density Residential and Open <br />Space (Parks and Recreation);" <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of October 26, 1983 the <br />Planning Commission recommended the adoption of the Negative <br />Declaration of Environmental Impacts prepared by staff concerning <br />this general plan amendment after considering all public <br />testimony, relevant documents and recommendations of the <br />City Staff; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission felt that the above described site <br />would be a good site for a park and high density residential <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Concurs with the Park and Recreation Commission and City <br />staff and recommends that generally the southern and eastern <br />one half of the nine acre site located at the northeast <br />corner of Tawny and Bernal Avenue have its General Plan <br />designation changed from "Medium Density Residential" to <br />"Open Space, Parks and Recreation" and the remainder changed <br />to "High Density Residential' with exact boundaries to be <br />determined as part of development plan consideration. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ON THE 26TH DAY OF OCTOBER 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairman <br />Jamieson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />DATE: October 26, 1983 <br />
