A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING A WAIVER FROM <br />THE REQUIREMENTS OF RESOLUTION NO. 73 -34 FOR <br />COAST FEDERAL SAVINGS <br />WHEREAS, Coast Federal Savings has requested that the City <br />Council modify their policy requiring that <br />financial institutions first have a branch in the <br />downtown area before locating in any outlying <br />commercial district because they have tried to <br />sell one of their branches to at least one <br />financial institution who has an office in the downtown <br />but were not able to consumate the sale; and <br />WHEREAS, Coast Federal Savings now have an interest in the <br />branch office from a bank or savings and loan <br />which does not have an office in the downtown area; and <br />WHEREAS, Coast Federal Savings is requesting a Waiver to <br />City Council Resolution No. 73 -34. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends a Waiver of City Council Resolution <br />No. 73 -34 for Coast Federal Savings to enable them <br />to sell their branch at the Alpha Beta Shopping <br />Center to a financial institution which does not <br />have a branch in the downtown area. <br />Section 2.
